University Applications Support

At Ikusasalentsha, we believe that access to higher education should not be limited by geography or resources. Our University Applications Support Program is designed to guide rural learners—especially those in under-resourced schools—through the entire university and bursary application process.

What We Do:

Since 2021, we have been assisting Grade 12 learners with:

• University and bursary applications (manual and online)
• WhatsApp-based support, introduced to reach learners in remote areas (outside Bergville/KZN)
• On-site school visits for application drives
• One-on-one guidance on career choices and funding opportunities

Our Impact:

• Over 4000 learners assisted since launch
• Dozens of successful admissions to top universities and TVET colleges
• Increased application success rates in rural KwaZulu-Natal

Why It Matters:

Many learners in rural communities face challenges such as lack of data, access to computers, or knowledge about tertiary opportunities. Our program bridges that gap by bringing information, support, and hope directly to them.
